I love this design board for jewel tones.  Notice how the subtle hints of navy really accent the purple.  Just make sure you don't mix them to much together, then they may appear to clash too much.  Using a teal or green also helps that jewel purple "pop."

Purple is a great color that we can use in so many ways. This is a great example of whimsical and airy.
